Use case
The hard part is not the stream. It is keeping the live room, inventory and orders in sync in real time — split that across two systems and you will be reconciling forever.
One SaaS for streaming, another for commerce, an integration in between. Pinning a product, changing a price, decrementing stock — each one lags.
Streaming on someone else's marketplace means commission plus service fees. Past a certain volume, self-hosting is simply cheaper.
Pinning products, watching live numbers, moderating chat — the host needs all of it mid-stream, not in a separate admin panel.
DTok ships twelve modules. These are the ones doing the heavy lifting here.
Go live, quality switching, reconnect on drop
Pin and unpin mid-stream, highlight the item being discussed, jump to detail
Checkout, payment, order state, shipping addresses
Real-time bullet comments, gift effects, leaderboards
| Stream on an existing marketplace | Traffic is there, but so is the commission — and the customer data and the rules belong to them. |
| Buy streaming SaaS plus a separate store | The sync problem between the two never goes away, and the monthly bill has no ceiling. |
| Hire an agency | Live streaming quotes run high, because concurrency and transport are a specialty. |
| DTok | One-time purchase, source is yours, one codebase across six platforms, self-hosted |
The client is not the bottleneck — concurrency depends on your streaming origin and CDN. DTok ships the client and the contract; we advise on the streaming side against your expected peak.
Yes. Products, inventory and orders sit behind their own interface layer, and pointing that at an existing backend is the common case. We confirm the shape of your APIs before you buy.
A phone. Camera push works on both iOS and Android. For production setups you can push from an external encoder instead.
